Keeping safe and having fun were Rubens Barrichello's key priorities going into his first oval race: and that being the case, the Indy 500 was a big success for the former F1 driver.

I suppose it was the best option (being safe!) but some drivers absolutely would not have it. The important thing is he (Barrichello) made it 'home' in one piece. Now that he's had the experience, I hope he will give it his all next year. IndyCar may have a new Emerson Fittipaldi!!!!
