How many times have RBR/STR stated "two years is enough" when sacking other development drivers? Now they're saying two years is not enough...

I think Dan is more than ready to step up. I doubt he'd be taking poles or winning races in his first season at the top, but he's consistent enough to qualify well and score points, and maybe take over the RBR reigns in a few years should Vettel decide to change teams.

Ricciardo outperformed Vergne 12 races to 8 in 2012. 7 races to 3 in Daniel's favor so far this year. So those who say Vergne is better...why? Lets get rid of Button! Totally useless with only a single point all year. After all, we are having a go at Ricciardo for not having a podium and claiming that makes him no good for a top line team. Nothing to do with the inferior car.

@twowheelsareenough - maybe stick to watching two wheels, chief. Lewis Hamilton had no F1 race experience before he debuted for a top team, then went on break all sorts of rookie year records and place second in the championship.

@Jez - i may watch motogp but i do remember that Lewis Hamilton was nutured by Ron Dennis, that Perez won a race before joining McLaren, same for Vettel
we are talking of top teams not mi-range
what i see is that Ricciardo have done nothing better than Buemi or Alguersuari and that JEV had better result in 2012 17 rank and 16 points than Rissiardo and is currently ahead of Ricciardo even with 2 DNF
so please don't give advice to other people

@twowheelsareenough - seriously champ, now you're just embarrassing yourself. Perez has not won a race. Vettel drove well for his maiden win, but it was largely due to the team gambling on switching to a wet set up after quali. If that race were dry, Vettel would certainly not have won.

Ricciardo has done nothing better than Buemi or Algersuari, huh? How about 5 straight top ten qualifying performances? His race results are comparable - all three have a highest finishing position of 7th.

As to Ricciardo vs Vergne - Ricciardo has been dudded by poor strategy calls on a number of occassions and while Vergne has been driving well, he is quite simply not as quick as Ricciardo. I doubt the team boss of the triple WCC would get that call wrong - he definitely thinks Ricciardo is the pick over Vergne.

I've no idea why you think a win or pole position is required by either of the STR drivers to be promoted. You're deluded if you think that the STR8 is capable of being driven to pole positio

No point speculating whether he's got what it takes or not he's more then likely to end up in the second Red Bull and we will soon find out how good he really is, but there is no guaranteeing Red Bull will be a front runner next year so it will be interesting to see.

I do believe these two Torro Rosso drivers deserve to be in F1 for a long time to come.
