IndyCar » Hamilton extracts 'absolute maximum' for Spa pole


Lewis Hamilton was thrilled to come away from Saturday's qualifying session with pole position for the 2013 Belgian Grand Prix, saying that he had got the absolute maximum he could out of himself.

Martin Brundle said pre quali that the Mercs was suffering here on a less down force track and that Mercedes will have to pull a Rabbit out of the hat to get anything out of quali.

Great pole for Lewis, and great driving by everyone in the final minutes of qualifying. The mixed conditions could and should have created chaos. Instead, we had a number of faster laps in a row and this speaks to the quality of the field in Q3.
