Awful to get to see IndyCar aces like himself, Franchitti, Montoya, Carpentier and a many others changing grounds and departing to the silly NASCAR Cup. Hope that indeed, He does return, like Dario did.

Have you blokes read that the so called "Car Of Twomorrow" uses only the most innovative racing technologies: two valve-cam in block engine, leaded gasoline, a four speed gearbox, live rear axel, four barrel carburetor, tube frame chassis... On top of it, apparently those cars can not turn right!!! :?

Agree Gabriel...
When you run a series and have 40+ cars on a half mile oval, you cannot call it racing... it's more like a circus in my opinion...
Anyway, I'm American and live here and truly cannot stand NASCRA9...

Allow multi-chassis manufacturers: engine and tire (tyre for you Brits :-)) suppliers in IRL and you'll see which will become the #1 racing series in the US.

Nascar is a very special racing series. The typical Nascar fan has a very "special" mentality.

Nascar is not very high-tech - but that is what gives it its charm. You have to be really dedicated and good to race nearly every weekend between Feb and Nov to lift the title. Can think of few people who have transitioned from open-wheel to Nascar who have done really well - Tony Stewart comes to mind.

At least Framchitti has tried it - you can't fault him for that.

Special mentality? What mentality?
Beer mentality probably...
In my in opinion it's not racing... it's just there for the Sunday masses entertainment.

I see subtle sarcasm is not your forte, FrankG. You and I are very much aligned, when it comes to Nascar anyway.

There were a couple of other open wheelers who come to mind that fared quite well in Nascar. Mario Andretti and A.J. Foyt

I totally agree with you, FrankG. You can not call it racing.

On any given Sunday, when you get bored of too many punching on the NFL channel, perhaps you may tune to the SpeedChannel and get bored some more, with the merry go 'round Cars of "Tomorrow" at a "bullring". The difference from a real bullring would be that at the speedway you will not find any bull at all, only a bunch of oxes.
