IndyCar » Dan Wheldon's $2.5 million payday

Dan Wheldon might be unemployed after his Indy 500 victory on Sunday, but he's not going to be short of cash for the foreseeable future - after pocketing $2.5m for the day's work.

Anyone who thinks Indycar racing is not exciting should have been at Rockingham a few years back when the outcome of the race was decided on the last corner of the last lap! Dramatic, spellbindingly fast, wheel to wheel racing, exciting pit stops and drivers who show no fear whilst travelling at over 200mph inches from concrete walls, now thats what I call exciting!! Rockingham turned out to be the fastest of all Indycar circuits and the interval display by an RAF jet has left me deaf to this day!!
