Howard inks Indy Lights deal

Palm Beach International Raceway has announced that Jay Howard will pilot the #37 Team PBIR entry in the 2009 Firestone Indy Lights series.

The 28-year-old already holds three championship titles as the Indy Lights Champion in 2006, the F2000 Champion a year earlier and the UK Formula Renault title winner back in 2003.

The Briton will team up alongside Charlie Kimball, who will drive the #35 entry during the season ahead.

“It is a great honor to have Jay Howard driving our car,” PBIR president Ron Dixon said. “He is an extremely talented driver and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.

“Charlie and Jay work well together and I think the combination of the two will yield great success.”
