While the race itself didn't go as planned, Justin Wilson was left with reason to celebrate after Z-Line Designs revealed that it will continue its relationship with Dale Coyne Racing this season – taking on the mantle of primary sponsor of the Briton's #18 entry.
The company had been involved with the team last season when it ran Bruno Junqueira, and will act as primary sponsor for Wilson for the remainder of the 200 IndyCar schedule – including the Indianapolis 500 in May.
It means the season-long IndyCar deal will run alongside existing commitments in NASCAR, where Z-Line is one of the backers for leading driver Kyle Busch.
“We are pleased to return in 2009 and work with Dale and his winning driver, Justin Wilson,” Jim Sexton, Z-Line Designs founder and CEO, said. “We have some bold plans to expand our programme not only for 2009, but into the future.”
Wilson himself said he was delighted to welcome a new sponsor on board.
“Z-Line Designs joining our efforts is great news,” he said. “They have been committed to winning programmes and we all welcome their participation and efforts.”
