Wilson: No reason we can’t be at front again

Fresh from carrying Dale Coyne Racing to its maiden victory last weekend at Watkins Glen, Justin Wilson says he sees no reason why the team won't be able to fight at the front again this weekend as the IndyCar Series heads to Toronto.

The Briton carried the perennial whipping boys to victory in what was the team's 558th open-wheel start – providing arguably one of the most popular IndyCar wins in recent years.

Wilson now heads to Canada for the Toronto event looking to not only build on that victory, but also continue his impressive previous form around the street circuit.

A maiden Champ Car win in 2005 was followed by pole position in 2006 and a podium finish in 2007 and Wilson will now look to add to that run of a success on a weekend when he expects the Dale Coyne outfit to run towards the front once again.

“It's exciting to be back here in Toronto,” he said. “There's a great atmosphere here, the fans are really into open wheel racing and it's a fun event for the drivers. As street tracks go, there's an interesting mix of high and low speed corners, some elevation changes and a mix of surfaces which adds to the challenge.

“Everyone's on a high after Watkins Glen, but we're completely focused on getting the job done here. We've gone well on the other street courses this year and we're looking to carry all that momentum forward this weekend. We know what it takes to win at this track and if we have a trouble-free weekend there's no reason why we can't be out at the front again on Sunday.”
