IL: Mann secures Sam Schmidt test

Pippa Mann to join fellow Brit Stefan Wilson in Indy Lights testing with Sam Schmidt Motorsports at Kentucky
As she continues to work on her plans for the 2010 season, British driver Pippa Mann is to jon the Sam Schmidt Motorsports team for a day of Indy Lights testing in Kentucky.

Mann secured three top-ten finishes during her debut season of Indy Lights competition and she will now join fellow Brit Stefan Wilson in taking part in the Sam Schmidt test.

"The only Firestone Indy Lights car I have driven up until now has been the #16 Panther Racing car, so it will be extremely interesting for me to test with another team,” she said. “The chance to do so with an outfit as highly regarded as Sam Schmidt Motorsports is a great opportunity for me, and I'm really looking forward to getting onto the track.

“Although we're still undecided on plans for next year, this gives me a positive feeling about what we're trying to achieve."

Team owner Sam Schmidt said he was pleased to give Mann time in his car.

“"I have had the opportunity recently to speak with Pippa at length about her goals and ambitions in motorsports and was extremely impressed with her drive, determination, and focus to be successful,” he said. “She has a very disciplined and technical approach, and we are very much looking forward to testing with her."

I'm pretty certain Openwheeler was being sarcastic, given Mann's distinct lack of results in anything she's ever driven in...
