Dale Coyne Racing announced that 2007 Firestone Indy Lights champion Alex Lloyd will drive the #19 Boy Scouts of America car in the season-opening IZOD IndyCar Series event, the Sao Paulo Indy 300, in Brazil this weekend.

The deal is a late one for both parties, and is for the season-opener only at present, following Coyne's decision to ink Milka Duno to a full series contract last week. Lloyd will be making his first IndyCar appearance on a road course after making three oval appearances - including two in the Indianapolis 500 - over the past two seasons.

The 25-year old Briton, who dominated the 2007 Firestone Indy Lights season and made his senior series debut in the 2008 Indianapolis 500, started two races last year, finishing a career-best eighth for Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
