Tracy rejoins DRR for Indianapolis
21 March 2011
Paul Tracy has re-signed with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for an assault on the 2011 Indianapolis 500.
The Canadian, who failed to qualify for the event last season in a car entered by KV Racing Technology, took part in a number of races for the team last season as a replacement for Mike Conway as he was forced onto the sidelines by his huge accident at the Brickyard.
Tracy's entry into the Indy 500 comes with backing from filter company WIX, with the former Champ Car title winner yet to confirm any plans beyond the biggest race on the IndyCar schedule.
"Obviously, it feels great to be back with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing," he said. "It's been a chaotic winter, but it's good to have the deal stowed away with a competitive program lined up with WIX Filters and DRR for the Indianapolis 500.
“It's great to be with a team like DRR, they have quality equipment and a solid engineering group with Larry Curry. It's a relief to have this deal done from that standpoint. I'm super excited, and want to thank WIX Filters for placing confidence in me as their brand ambassador at the Indy 500."
Tracy will join full-time DRR drivers Justin Wilson and Ana Beatriz in an expanded three-car assault at Indianapolis.
