Hunter-Reay signs up for Race of Champions

The Race of Champions pits drivers from across a range of motor sports championships - from F1 to rally, IndyCar to Le Mans, touring car to NASCAR - in a variety of vehicles on a specially constructed tarmac track consisting of two intertwined parallel lanes.

Last year's event - held in Düsseldorf - also saw Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Tom Kristensen, Andy Priaulx, Sebastien Ogier, Romain Grosjean, Vitaly Petrov and Timo Glock among the 18-driver line-up.

This year's competition will be held at the 50,000-capacity Rajamangala Stadium in Bankok, originally built to host the 1998 Asian Games and now the home of the Thailand national football team as well as the venue for athletics competitions, political rallies and entertainment events.

Previous venues for the Race of Champions include Wembley in 2007 and 2008 and Beijing's 'Bird's Nest' Olympic Stadium in 2009.
