Drama at Indianapolis

Peter Dempsey won the Indy 500-supporting Indy Lights event - but his margin of success couldn't have been much smaller
The biggest race on the IndyCar schedule will take place on Sunday with the 97th running of the Indy 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Ed Carpenter will be on pole for the big race, but the 33 car field will have to go some way to beat the drama of the supporting Firestone Freedom 100 Indy Lights event – won in extraordinary circumstances by Peter Dempsey.

Full details on the race can be found by clicking HERE, while the video below will show how the smallest of margins was enough to give the Irish racer victory...

Yeah, wow, what a finish! The local NBC affiliate in NYC, WNBC, actually showed this on the 6 o'clock news, and they never show a thing about motorsports unless it shows a crash or is about whatshername. I hope that this is good publicity for the 500 tomorrow. And, in about an hour F1 qualifying is on. I must go out and get the paper and bagels.
