Briscoe back at Panther for Milwaukee

Ryan Briscoe will be racing again for the Panther Racing team at the Milwaukee Mile, where he is a former race winner.
Ryan Briscoe will take up the race seat in the #4 National Guard Panther Racing car for the third time in 2013 with a new outing for the team in the Milwaukee IndyFest at the Milwaukee Mile this weekend.

Briscoe previously took the wheel for the two Detroit double-header events at the start of June, following his Indianapolis 500 outing with the Ganassi team.

"I felt like the team gelled really well when we worked together in Detroit and I'm sure we'll be able to pick right up where we left off this weekend in Milwaukee," said Briscoe, who is splitting his time this month between IndyCar races in the US and preparations for the Le Mans 24 Hours in France.

"We're excited to have Ryan Briscoe back this weekend,"said John Barnes, the managing director of the Panther team. "It was great to work with him a few weeks ago in Detroit and he obviously knows his way around the Milwaukee Mile."

Briscoe previously competed full-time in the IZOD IndyCar Series for Team Penske alongside Helio Castroneves and Will Power until the team had to downsize to just two full-time entries this season. He claimed his maiden win in the series at the Milwaukee Mile with Penske in 2008, and was runner-up the following year.

"We feel like we'll be able to have a good weekend in the National Guard Chevrolet," added Barnes. "We're working on getting him signed for several other races this season, so hopefully we'll have that finalized in the short term future."

Panther had previously indicated that they will use a roster of different drivers for the remainder of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Season after splitting with former regular competitor JR Hildebrand following a disappointing Indy 500 for the team.

Oriol Servia took the car last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, and will return to the wheel of the #4 again at Iowa on June 23.

Meanwhile, Ana Beatriz will return to Dale Coyne Racing in the #18 car this weekend, after the seat was taken by Mike Conway for a winning outing at Detroit and by Pippa Mann for a less fulfilling time last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway which ended with early mechanical problems just two laps into the Firestone 550.
