Sarah Fisher was in attendance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday but says that she has no plans to compete in this year's Indy 500.
Fisher, who competed in five Indy 500's between 2000 and 2004, left the open wheel arena in search of a stock car drive but although those plans haven't led to a full time drive in any of NASCAR's major touring series, she says that she isn't actively searching for a ride at Indianapolis.
“As everybody knows, I've been trying to do some driving down south,” said Fisher, who has a best Indy 500 result of 21st in her final start in 2004. “It's just not working the way I want it to work. Just looking at every opportunity and doing some other things besides racing to keep me busy.”
“I love Indy cars. But it has to be the right opportunity. I've been in cars that can't win, and I'm a winning person. I need to be in a winning car. Everybody deserves that chance. Just depends on the opportunity.”
