The ABC Supply 500 has been delayed until Monday (22nd August) at the Pocono Raceway due to heavy rain suspending the action on Sunday.

After Mikhail Aleshin made history by becoming the first Russian driver to grab pole position in IndyCar history, his charge was suspended when the race had to be pushed back until Monday due to rain which drenched the 2.5-mile oval circuit.

The race is the second round of the 2016 IndyCar championship season to be suspended by the weather after the Firestone 600 in Texas was delayed until the following day after its initial calendar slot of 11th June before being suspended indefinitely and rescheduled for next weekend on the 27th August.

The ABC Supply 500 is scheduled for a 12:09pm ET start on Monday 22nd August with the grid keeping its qualifying formation.
