McLaren has revealed Fernando Alonso's car livery for his debut outing at the Indianapolis 500.

Having announced his decision to skip the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in order to race at the Indianapolis 500, Alonso is at the iconic American track for a maiden test.

The Spaniard has little time to get to grips with IndyCar ahead of the famous 500-mile race, but will be given his first on track experience in a test at IMS on the 3rd May.

Alonso has been handed the test as, unlike fellow Indy 500 rookies Zach Veach, Ed Jones and Jack Harvey, he has not driven on an oval before, nor has he driven an Indy car.

Alonso paid a visit to the IndyCar paddock during last weekend's Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports before heading to Andretti's workshop in Indianapolis to try out its simulator.

The test comes between Alonso's F1 commitments in Russia and Spain, and will likely tie in with a visit to the Andretti Autosport shop in Indianapolis and some work in the simulator.
