IndyCar Series officials have announced that Kosuke Matsuura will start the from the rear of the field for the rain delayed Firestone Indy 200 at Nashville Superspeedway after having his qualifying time/speed disallowed for failing post-qualifying tech inspection.
The decision was announced prior to the race after the team filed a protest that was heard by Brian Barnhart, Indy Racing League president of competition and operations.
Barnhart upheld the decision of the IndyCar Series technical inspection team and disallowed the qualifying time/speed.
Matsuura had qualified in 13th place in his #55 Super Aguri Panther Racing Dallara-Honda.
