Brooks reveals Atlantic pairing.

Brooks Associates Racing has announced a strong driver line-up for the 2008 Champ Car Atlantic season.

While race drivers Filip Salaquarda and Markus Niemela will be debuting in Atlantic competition, the pair bring a wealth of experience from other formulae, including the F1 feeder series GP2.

Czech driver Salaquarda comes to the US for the first time having spent 2007 competing in the F3 Euroseries and in A1GP, where he took a tenth place finish at Shanghai.

Niemela meanwhile spent the second half of 2007 running for BCN Competition in GP2, and team owner John Brooks said he felt the European pairing would be strong during the season ahead.

"Markus and Filip fit right into our team and I'm really looking forward to 2008," he said. "We're changing any number of things, and having two quality drivers signed early, with plenty of time to test and work together promises a good season for all my guys."
