Prendeville joins TMR for `09 Lights season.

Andrew Prendeville will return to the Firestone Indy Lights series next season, having inked a deal to join Team Moore Racing and drive the Xtreme Coil Drilling entry.

The 2009 campaign will be the Las Vegas resident's third in Indy Lights, and the 27-year old has compiled an solid resume, including seven top ten finishes in his twelve starts with RLR/Andersen Racing last season. Cutting short his season to 'pursue other opportunities', Prendeville turned out in the Eco Racing prototype at the Laguna Seca ALMS finale, but always aimed to return to the IndyCar feeder series for 2009.

"I am really looking forward to the season with Mark Moore and the whole team," he said, "After testing with Mark, I think that we can work very well together and fight for podium finishes. We still have lots of time before the season starts so my focus will be on testing, and building a solid chemistry with everyone on the team."

Prendeville will form half of TMR's projected two-car line-up, and the team is working to finalise the identity of his partner in order to get in as much winter running as possible before the new season starts.

"The team and I are really looking forward to 2009 with Andrew in our car," team owner Moore commented, "He is a very talented driver, and I really feel we have a shot at the championship with someone of his calibre behind the wheel.

"We have only one seat available now, and we are working hard to sign a driver for our second car. There are a lot of skilled drivers out there and we are weighing our options carefully. Andrew will be a perfect team-mate for anyone out there with his knowledge of these cars and the series."

Racewinners Jeff Simmons, Pablo Donoso and Jonathan Klein all raced with TMR in 2008, but co-owner Tom Wood is looking forward to Prendeville coming on board.

"We are excited to have Andrew join our team," the former driver said, "He has great skills as a driver and, with our top-flight racing team, we think that will be a winning combination in '09. Watching him race last year, Andrew is a winner."
