Atlantic champion evaluates options.

After a stellar season in the Formula Atlantic Championship, Markus Niemela admits he is evaluating his options for 2009 after taking part in a number of tests following the conclusion of his title-winning campaign.

Niemela stormed to the Atlantic title in his rookie season, but then returned to Europe to take part in GP2 testing with championship winning outfit Racing Engineering.

The Finn was then given the chance to take part in Indy Lights testing at Putnam Park and Kentucky before a call from Mercedes saw him test a DTM machine at the Italian Mugello circuit.

"I've never driven so many different cars in such short time," he admitted. "It has been busy and great to get drive all these cars especially as all of the tests went very well.

"My next year is still quite open and no decisions have been made but there are some interesting opportunities. We are still evaluating for different options and waiting for all the cards to be on table before making any decisions."
