After two seasons of going to the wire, the 2009 IndyCar Series season kicks off on the streets of St Petersburg this weekend with the usual intriguing mix of contenders and hopefuls. The past two titles have gone the way of new Target Chip Ganassi Racing team-mates Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon respectively, but can the apparent powerhouse be derailed by the likes of Andretti Green Racing, with whom Franchitti claimed his title, or Penske, which claimed the 2006 crown. Or will one of the supposedly smaller teams spring a surprise and vault an unexpected candidate into the fray?
