Helio Castroneves may have missed out on victory last weekend at Homestead by the narrowest of margins but he made up for it on Sunday in St Petersburg.

The Brazilian Marlboro Team Penske driver benefited from Scott Dixon's late splash and dash and a subsequent race ending caution flag caused when Buddy Rice and Tomas Scheckter crashed to take his eighth IRL win and move atop the points standings.

Dixon, who shared the lead with Castroneves for much of the day, and Tony Kanaan completed the podium as once again just eleven cars made it to the finish.
