The IRL has for the most part taken Tony G out of the picture, good first step to healing the wounds he caused. This car would not be a good second step. The safety aspect is a non starter for me. If you want to build a safe car look at F1. How many serious injuries have there been in the the last decade....... 1. F1 is as safe as open wheel needs to be. A big draw of speed is the danger, if you take that completely away then it will be like watching a video game. Now let me stop you right there, I'm not saying I want drivers to get hurt by anymeans. I drive bikes and cars on the track and accept the current level of risk without hesitation, which is exactly what all racers do.
