One could argue that the mix of street, road and oval circuits makes the IndyCar series a greater test of a driver than F1. Back in the CART days there was a noticeable difference between drivers like Franchitti, who were much stronger on road/street than oval, and drivers who had come through the ranks in North America who were stronger on ovals. Still true now, Will Power is great all round but still stronger on road/street than oval. Having now taken his first oval win we'll see how he progresses.
One could also argue that until Danica formally commits her future to IndyCar she gets no say in the matter, unless she meant to say that NASCAR needs more ovals!
