I think that rather than ban open wheel racecars on Ovals, we should be looking to make the Catch fencing safer. The work that has already been done on making the "walls" safer has been very successful. We need to change the catch fencing to something which is see-through but not like a "net" which can hookup on protruding parts of the car - like the driver's head! Think of a big version of the plexiglass screens at a Hockey rink - it will contain the cars, save the spectators, but it will not be dangerous to drivers of open cars.
