Not sure how to feel about this. Conway won the event last year and did a great job, but he refuses to participate in oval races anymore. Is it strong to admit you're scared? I'm not sure. Perhaps he's chosen the wrong field of employment, should the indycar series even allow a 'conditional' driver to compete? I mean, each race is a chapter in a championship, that's why we're addicted to the outcome of each race. I think these 'one-offs' cheapen and dilute the show. The main championship is the big one, road and oval course championships don't really have relevance yet as they're quite new. Or perhaps Indycar should just complete ditch the oval races, stop competing with nascar and re-launch themselves as a proper, certified, engaging alternative to F1. Ditch the oval races and attract the talent from open wheeled europe that didn't have the commercial clout to enter f1.
