Toronto - Race results

Dario Franchitti led Scott Dixon to a Ganassi 1-2, but neither Dario nor the team made many friends in an crash-filled, angry outing on the streets of Toronto.
Multiple crashes blighted IndyCar's first weekend of the year in Canada, and Will Power directed some furious words at Dario Franchitti after the two made contact mid-race through the notorious turn 3, which sent Power into a costly spin that ensured he was unable to maintain his challenge against the Scot.

Dario went on to win the race on the streets of Toronto, while Scott Dixon kept his title hopes alive by making it a Ganassi 1-2 with Franchitti.

Power's race went from bad to worse when he was subsequently hit by Alex Tagliani, bounced into the air and into the wall and tyre barrier, which wrecked the #12 Verizon car beyond repair and meant he retired in 24th place. Power was outraged when neither Franchitti nor Tagliani were penalised, and he had furious words for both men and their on-track behaviour.

In a race that saw multiple accidents - almost no one escaped without involvement in one incident or another during the 85 laps - it was an especially bad weekend for Power, who ended up with his second successive "did not finish" after crashing at Iowa two weeks ago which leaves him 55pts adrift of Franchitti going into the second Canadian race at Edmonton in two weeks time.
