Iowa: Race results

James Hinchcliffe claimed his third win of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series season with a perfect dominating run at the Iowa Speedway.
Andretti Autosport's James Hinchcliffe completely controlled the Iowa Corn Indy 250 presented by DEKALB at Iowa Speedway on Sunday afternoon, leading 224 of the 250 laps and only out of the top spot for any significant period during an overlap of divergent pit stop strategies late in the race.

Hinchcliffe was able to hold off initial expressions of interest in his lead position from Ed Carpenter and Marco Andretti, and faced his most serious threat mid-race from Graham Rahal. Towards the end, Hinchcliffe's own team mate Ryan Hunter-Reay became the major opposition to the #27 GoDaddy.com but traffic in the closing laps released Hinchcliffe to take the chequered flag by a margin of one and a half seconds at the line.
