KF3 wins for Dennis and Dalton at Rowrah.

There were wins for Jake Dennis and Jake Dalton in round four of the MSA British Junior Karting Championship at Rowrah.
The fourth round of the 2010 MSA British Junior Karting championship for KF3's took place at Rowrah on mid summer solstice weekend with the two Jake's, Dennis and Dalton sharing the spoils.

As the 2010 Super One KF3 Championship entered the second half of its seven round season, the rolling, undulating Lakeland Stadium in Rowrah provided Racing Steps Foundation backed driver Dennis with an ideal opportunity to stretch his points lead. And although he did gain a little ground he can by no means relax over the last three rounds of the series.

Britain's representative in the inaugural CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, former British Cadet Champion Roy Johnson, set the fastest time in qualifying but was less than a tenth ahead of Dennis and Dalton with Charlie Robertson and Callan O'Keefe both within two tenths of the pole time.

Dennis struck first in the opening heat, getting the better of Johnson after a race long duel although Johnson gained revenge in heat two, leading from start to finish to beat O'Keefe, Dalton and Nutts Corner winner Charlie Eastwood with Dennis only fifth.

The first final developed into a scrap between Dennis and Dalton with Johnson keeping a watchful eye in third. Dalton eventually gained the upper hand to claim a narrow victory with Johnson less than a second behind in third.

Battle was rejoined in the second final between the two Jake's with Dalton leading from the off as Dennis recovered from a poor start. However once Dennis was ahead of Johnson and into second he closed in and took the lead with three laps to go, eventually crossing the line a kart length ahead to increase his championship lead to 24 points over Ben Barnicoat.

Barnicoat enjoyed a consistent weekend with a pair of fourth place finishes although he was a couple of tenths off race winning pace. Dalton matched Dennis' weekend score to move into a share of third place in the overall standings with Johnson although both are more than 40 markers adrift of Dennis with three rounds to go.
