Terry Fullerton to appear at Autosport International

“Terry held the audience in the palm of his hand.”
Multiple karting champion Terry Fullerton will appear centre stage at the 2012 Autosport International Show at the Birmingham NEC in January.

Fullerton has been asked by the organisers to consider being present on the show's bumper visitor days on Saturday and Sunday January 14-15.

The organisers said: “We are delighted that Terry is joining us and he will regale karters and other racers alike.”

Ayrton Senna astonished the media by naming Fullerton as the greatest driver he ever raced against during a press conference at the 1993 Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide.

Senna said: “He was very experienced and I enjoyed very much driving with him because he was fast, he was consistent. He was for me a very complete driver. And it was pure driving, pure racing. I have that as a very good memory.”

Karting circles had known about Senna's quote for years. It was brought to wider public attention by the critically acclaimed Senna film released around the world this year.

Fullerton's PR agent said that at the London premiere of Senna in May hosted by F1 journalist James Allen, Fullerton 'held the audience in the palm of his hand' talking about his rivalry with Senna when they were team-mates at DAP from 1978-80.

Fullerton is joining Autosport International's star line-up of Steve Rider, Jake Humphrey and David Coulthard. An excellent driver coach too, Fullerton will also be joining his former pupils Paul di Resta and Allan McNish.

Autosport International's special feature for 2012 will be the Senna display in Hall 20. It will feature the karts and the cars the late Brazilian drove during his career [see separate story - click here].
