Vicki Butler-Henderson to return to karts at Glan Y Gors

Carolynn Hoy: "This is great opportunity to further expose karting to the general public, and we are very excited to have Vicki Butler-Henderson and the Fifth Gear team joining us at Glan Y Gors."

Vicki Butler-Henderson will race in Formula Kart Stars' Senior Max class this weekend at Glan Y Gors in Wales.

She will be accompanied by a film crew, who will shoot the round for the Fifth Gear show, which is broadcast on Channel 5.

Formula Kart Stars MD Carolynn Hoy, who recently appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in a tribute to Martin Hines, said: “This is a great opportunity to further expose karting to the general public, and we are very excited to have Vicki Butler-Henderson and the Fifth Gear team joining us at Glan Y Gors.”

As well as her extensive work in television and journalism, Butler-Henderson has considerable racing experience.

She made her karting debut in the Junior Britain class when she was 12 years-old. She then raced in 100cc before moving to the Formula First championship when she was 17. Silverstone has also employed her as a race instructor.

Earlier in the year, Channel Four approached several MSA Cadet drivers so that they could be filmed for a documentary the channel is doing about Formula Kart Stars. The announcement concerning Butler Henderson is another success FKS has had in securing terrestrial TV coverage.
