Scottish glory for King, Hodgson.

Andy King and Oliver Hodgson shared the race wins in the fifth round of the Super One Junior Rotax Championship at the fast and frantic Larkhall circuit in Scotland.

In a typically robust Junior Rotax outing there were incidents aplenty across the two point scoring finals as the championship fight closed up immeasurably thanks to a combination of great driving and controversy.

King won the first final by inches over GP Plate holder Ash Hand, who looked on course to take his first major triumph since switching to the CRG chassis until the very last lap. Nathan Harrison and Hodgson were third and fourth across the line with Hodgson deposing championship leader Matt Parry on the final lap.

However King's day turned very sour at the start of the second final when a clash with Harrison eliminated the latter and caused the race one winner to drop to the back of the 30 kart field.

Hand took over the lead with Hodgson in hot pursuit and try as he might Hand couldn't shake his rival, who waited until the 22nd and final lap before making his move. Unable to respond Hand had to settle for his second runner-up finish in as many races as Hodgson celebrated his first S1 win of the year.

Behind the top two there was controversy as Parry collided with Babington whilst disputing third on the penultimate lap which led to Babington's retirement and Parry's subsequent exclusion. Third eventually went to James Singleton from Jack Barlow and Callum Pointon.

Despite the exclusion Parry still heads the points table although his advantage is now down to just two points over Jack Marshall, who could only muster finishes of eighth and 16th in the two finals. Despite his 27th place finish in final two King still sits third overall and is just seven points behind Parry with Hodgson and the unfortunate Babington fourth and fifth, still well in contention with two rounds to go.
