Allan McNish was rewarded for another fine season in sportscar racing when he picked up two awards at the annual BRDC awards ceremony at Silverstone.
The Scot picked up the ACO Award for finishing as the highest placed British driver at the Le Mans 24 Hours – where he took third back in June alongside American Le Mans Series champions Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro.
McNish was also handed the Silverstone-Le Mans trophy, handed down to the British driver with the highest combined finish from the Le Mans race and the LMES event at Silverstone, a race that McNish won alongside Stephane Ortelli.
"I am obviously very pleased to receive both BRDC awards for my sportscar efforts with the Audi R8 in its last year of competition in Europe," he said. "It was especially nice to win my last race with her on the British Racing Driver's Club home soil at the Silverstone 1000km's which was one of my nicest victories in the R8."
