Lola to revise car in bid to hold off competition

Lola have announced that they are introducing changes to their B05/40 LMP2 model in a bid to stave off competition from the likes of Penske Porsche and the forthcoming Acura American Le Mans entry.

Currently competing, and leading, the ALMS and Le Mans series, Lola's reliability has allowed them to forge ahead of their rivals in both championships, although in terms of speed, the likes of Penske Porsche have reeled them in.

As a result, the car is re-entering the wind tunnel to undergo aerodynamic changes, something that will also be benefited by an aero team that is led by ex-Jaguar F1 engineer, Phil Tiller.

A mechanical design development programme is also underway with a schedule of runs on Lola's in-house 7-post vehicle dynamic test-rig. Significant weight reduction has already been found, particularly on the new for 2006 bodykit.
