Peugeot drivers happy with third straight win

Peugeot drivers Pedro Lamy, Stephane Sarrazin, Marc Gene and Nicolas Minassian were left pleased at the Nurburgring after helping the French team to its first 1-2 finish with the diesel-powered 908.

Both the #7 and #8 cars ran without any major problems in Germany, although the car of Gene and Minassian did suffer an early delay due to an oil pressure problem that led to an unscheduled stop.

Aside from that, the only dramas came in the form of a drive through penalty for each car as Lamy and Sarrazin took a second successive victory to strengthen their position at the head of the standings.

"At the start of the race, I was a little faster than Nicolas on soft tyres and we decided to pit before him," Sarrazin said. "I pushed hard and was able to pass him before my second stop. After that, we didn't have any problems all the way to the flag."

"This car is incredibly quick," Minassian added. "The chassis is fantastic and I would like to congratulate the technical team who gave us such a competitive car for this race."
