Aston Martin reveals 2010 programme

1 February 2010

Despite speculation that it could set out 2010 to focus on the development of a new car, Aston Martin Racing has revealed that it will enter two works cars in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Chris Buncombe, Stefan Mucke, Harold Primat and Darren Turner will all return at the wheel of the LM1 Lola-Aston Martin, while ALMS LMP2 champion Adrian Fernandez will also join the team. A sixth driver will be announced in the coming weeks.

Ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours itself, AMR will also take part in the opening two rounds of the American Le Mans Series season at Sebring and Long Beach as well as the Le Mans Series event at Paul Ricard.

Following Le Mans, the team will also take in selected other events, which are yet to be announced.

“Having won the Le Mans Series Team and Driver titles in 2009 it will be a hard act to follow,” Aston Martin Racing team principal, George Howard-Chappell said. “However, we are looking forward to a great season of racing and we hope to have another strong showing at Le Mans. I'd like to welcome Adrian to the team, I'm sure with his experience he will be a great addition to our driver line-up.”
