Audi confirms it will race at Sebring one last time with a two-car entry into the 2013 race
Audi to bid Sebring farewell
Audi has confirmed that it will use the Sebring Twelve Hours as a pre-cursor to its assault on the 2013 World Endurance Championship.

Despite the fact that, unlike last season, the ALMS season-opener isn't a part of the WEC this year, Audi has confirmed that it will head Stateside for what seems set to be its final appearance in the Florida race.

From 2014, LMP1 cars will no longer be able to compete at Sebring when the ALMS merges with Grand-Am for form a unified American series.

Audi will take car for Sebring as it chases an eleventh victory, with a 2012-spec version of the R18 e-tron Quattro running alongside an updated 2013 version of the same car.

Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen and Lucas di Grassi will share driving duties in one car, while Benoit Treluyer, Marcel Fassler and Oliver Jarvis will team up in the other.

Off-track, Audi will celebrate its success at Sebring through the year with a display featuring the R8, R10, R15 and R18 models.

“We're in for a very emotional race weekend on which we'll be taking the fans along on a journey into our past,” Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich said. “Sebring is where Audi's sports car era that has been so successful began. We expect that with two current hybrid models we'll be battling for overall victory at the 12-hour race for the last time this year.

“At the same time, on the fringes of the race, the fans can look forward to seeing four other race cars and several race drivers who made history at Sebring with Audi.”

bummer for all of the fans who have embraced Factory enter.ed WORLD sports cars racing they will be gone and we will have the biggest exclusive to USA club racing world I have also found it sad that all these years that brain dead Toyota has snubbed us over and over with the wonderful tech bad ass cars that NEVER won a single F! race and never won LeMans ! 2cnd as always is the 1st loser ! I'll be at Sebring but alas Toyota won't be !I will be there for my 65th birthday and I have no idea how many birthdays I've had there ! this will probably be my last there I'm moving on also !Thank You Audi for a fun run of it !
