ACO reveals 71 entries for Le Mans 24 Hours

25 January 2013

The ACO has announced that a total of 71 entries have been lodged for the remaining slots on the grid for this years Le Mans 24 Hours.

With the GreenGT H2 project already assured of an entry as the 'Garage 56' entry, reserved for a car embracing new technology, a total of 55 places are still available for the French classic.

The total of 71 cars includes 40 in the LMP1 and LMP2 classes with a further 30 in GTE.

A total of 16 entries had already been offered automatically based on the 2012 season - with the likes of Audi, Starworks Motorsport and AF Corse invited to compete thanks to their results last year.

Entries for the race closed on 16 January, by which date the 71 entries had been received. The selection committee then met on 23 January to determine which 55 cars will join the GreenGT entry for the race alongside the ten reserves – selected in case any of the chosen 56 decide to withdraw.

The full entry list will be announced next Friday (1 February).
