Why is the penalty harsh? The overtaking car is responsible for the safe pass. Hall moved across a car which is dangerous in real life nevermind in a sportscar race.

I feel sorry for the other guys in the #009 car but the penalty was fair.

I think the punishment only seems harsh because it was a genuine mistake and not intentional. However, the outcome could of been far worse had it happened at other parts of the circuit. These drivers should drive with respect to others. The drivers of the GT classes have to continually be alert to what is around them and the drivers of the faster LMP1 cars not above that same responsibility of respect to those around them. They must take driver discipline serious to maintain a fair and safe sport.
