McNish was spot on, they did go "a bit quicker" but still almost 4 sec off the pace. I'm hoping this year race will be as good as last year. Maybe they'll rain to provide some last minute drama (we know the 908s are absolutely crap in the rain).

In other news, how 'bout them vette boys eh? Pretty strong 2&3rd in GT2. Go out there and show 'em who's the boss boys!!! And I'm surprised on how competitive the Ford GTs (for a 1 year old car) are or the mysterious lack of pace from the C6R and why oh why does vitaphone maseratis still refuses to race in lemans.

@TooBored - The Maserati's are actually technically illegal (too wide & too long) but due to some saber rattling when they were introduced by Maserati (AND owner Ferrari) have always raced under a special dispensation from the FIA, which makes them only eligible to enter FIA events... as Le Mans is an ACO event & they are more strict with their rules, the Maserati's aren't legal...

The Vitaphone team still gets an automatic invite due to winning the FIA championship & have done so a couple of times using a Saleen I believe

How come the JLOC Murcielago is so far off the pace, it's a GT1 car and languishing at the bottom of the grid way below any other GT1 cars!

Awesome laps by Bourdais in final qualifying last night that 908HDi is amazing through the Porsche curves! Anyone who says diesel does not a race car make take note! Now if they could just use that sound technology BMW are using it still not a nice noise!

The JLOC team really are an embarrasment. They will be lucky to complete 10 laps, last year they did 1!!!
Peugeot seem to have the pace, but never right Audi off - bit of mixed weather and they might 'luck in'.
LMP2/ GT2 look like fantastic battles - should be race long.
Is it me, or is the mainstream coverage of this event reducing by the year? I haven't seen anything this year in the papers. Motorsport=F1, sadly...

JLOC stand for Japan Lamborghini Owners Club which pretty much explains it all. Bunch of rich japanese playboys looking for a good time while racing, sorta like the Bentley Boys. Their club must have some huge coffers to support the kind of racing programme in supergt and lemans.

@jorg bergmeister

I think the reason for the lack of coverage is because of the World Cup, not F1. But it wont affect the attendance of the canadian race as i dont think the north americans watch football.

It certainly isn't the UK because anyone living within 50 miles would've complained about the noise, despite the houses being built AFTER the circuit was used for racing...

I would LOVE to live within throwing distance of a spectacular circuit... I even envy the individuals whose driveways are actually ON Mountain Straight at Bathurst...
