It was exciting to see Kristensen take extreme risks to get pole. Unfortunate that he crashed at the last minute of qually.

Both Peugot and Audi had a lot of traffic on their fastest lap. I understand and like the nature of LM, but sometimes it would be nice if the last 30 min of qualification could be just for prototypes.

Sasha, it's all part of multi class racing if you separate the classes in qualifying you might as well run separate races for each class
Dealing with traffic be it faster or slower cars is a huge part of what it's all about

I'm really surprised that the Aston Martin is so slow.

20sec a lap off he pace is light years.
If the Audi's & Puggs stop every 10-12 laps, that means they'll be lapping the Aston once per fuel stop!!

Well, athe slowest Peugeot placing 6th all the way up to the fastest Audi qualifying 1st. they are within a half a second of eachother basically, the old Peugeot will be fast but no pace for the Audi/peugeot fight, the old Peugeot will be lapped being 3-4 seconds slower.Main question: Audi having the V6 and Peugeot 908 having the V8 engine, and producing the same horsepower, do u think Audi will have a few more laps on the track over Peugeot, hopefully, Audi can squeeze out 13-14 laps or more, maybe 15 laps, probably unrealistic, but wishful thinking! LoL

Maybe the 5th grid placed Audi, hopefully driven by Allan McNish can muscle his way pass the 2 Peugeots ahead of him to reoin the top 2 Audi in the 1st lap will be nice, Hopefully it will be Audi 1-2-3 one they start stopping in for fuel, hope Audi gets 4-stints from the tires and gets plenty of good luck, and good fuel economy... Go Audi's! Hope the end in all Audi 1-2-3!!!

Dale, The Aston Is more or less being developed in public at races, so is really a work in progress I think finishing this year is the main goal
Now next year they should be closer (I hope)

That may be the case, but that car wouldnt trouble the LMP2 field.
The car was launched a long time ago, so I'd expect them to arrive at the biggest event of their season a little more prepared.

Also, if they're using this race as a test, the ACO has a right to be upset. This is a race that teams have to qualify for or be invited to. If Aston arent taking it as seriously as other teams would, perhaps their entry should have gone to someone else?
