Craig
In theory they should be quite similar, about a lap either way, the Toyota Hybrid has 15L more tank capacity than the Audi Hybrid to take into account the higher energy value per L advantage that diesel has over petrol.
But of corse as we all know theory is a wonderfull thing!!!

Well, it seems Toyota succumbed to the very same errors that stem from lack of endurance experience Peugeot did, when it first entered. They want to be #1 right out of the box, and that's just not the way things work in a race that lasts 24h. First you concentrate on finishing, then you analyse things to death and back and plan things to go beyond the following year and push for the win. Peugeot learned it the hard way with the iron pistons in an alumminium block, now Toyota has learned it with an alternator buried deep inside the bowels of the car. Frankly, it is a bit amateurish to design a car that needs it's rear end almost totally disassembled just to change an alternator. C'mon, almost 1:47h just to swap a bloody part that should take no more than 10 minutes, that's not how you win races.

Yes, the Toyotas were impressively fast during the late afternoon when the track temperature rose, but had Davidson not crash out, his car would probably not survive the night as well. New car,
