Very sensible comments above from RD350LC and AB. In addition, who cares about lap times or grid position in qualification, ahead of a 24hrs race? Jacky Ickx showed in 1969 how little it matters, by actually starting dead last. Only in 1966 the grid position did have a huge impact on the outcome of the race, deciding of the winner.
