Early Creation debut for Halliday.

Having inked a deal to join Creation AIM for two rounds of the American Le Mans Series, Liz Halliday will get the chance to join the team earlier than expected after being called into the line-up for the latest round of the Le Mans Series this weekend.

With Felipe Ortiz unavailable due to other commitments, the American racer will line-up alongside Stephen Simpson in the #14 entry at the Nurburgring, with both drivers making their debut with the team in the event.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for me to get some time in the car under racing conditions," Halliday said. "The news that I would be driving at the Nurburgring has come quite late, but the chance to work with Stephen and the team, and the experience we'll gain from that, will be very welcome.

"The Nurburgring is a new circuit for me. I've been there before as a spectator, but never to drive, so that's exciting as well. In fact, it's going to be a weekend of firsts; my first race with Creation, first in an LMP1 car and first at the Nurburgring, so obviously I can't wait!"

Creation team principal Mike Jankowski admitted that Halliday had been the logical choice to come in and fill the vacancy when it became apparent that Ortiz would be unavailable.

"When we found out Felipe was unavailable for this race, we thought of Liz straight away," he said. "It's a welcome opportunity to work with her before our programme together in the US and we're confident that she will do a good job this weekend."
