Aston Martin Racing ace Darren Turner has been named as the latest ambassador for the MSA's Go Motorsport initiative - the scheme set up to help increase involvement in motor sport at all levels.

The initiative is already backed by the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Murray Walker and Allan McNish with Turner being the latest racing ace to lend his support for the scheme.

Having seen SEAT end its involvement in the BTCC, Turner will return his focus to sportscar racing this season as part of Aston Martin's new LMP1 prototype assault on the Le Mans Series and Le Mans, while the former McLaren test driver also sits on the panel of judges overseeing the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver programme set up to recognise and support young racing talent.

"Go Motorsport is a great campaign and I'm delighted to be given this chance to give something back to the sport," Turner said. "For lots of reasons, it can be tricky for newcomers to get into our sport but this initiative from the MSA aims to overcome some of the myths and to provide all the answers for those wanting to get started.

"Having raced at all levels in UK, I know what this country has to offer both for competitors and fans. Whether you're an aspiring Lewis Hamilton dreaming of F1, a car enthusiast looking to have some fun or just seeking some excellent live entertainment, there are boundless opportunities out there and there's no better place to start than the GoMotorsport.net website."
