Guy Smith will make his return to LMP1 competition at Spa after being called into the Team LNT line-up for the latest round of the Le Mans Series.

Smith will join forces with Robbie Kerr and team boss Lawrence Tomlinson for the event, which comes in break from his schedule in the American Le Mans Series with Dyson Racing.

It will mark the first appearance for the LNT Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S, with the team hoping to match the impressive performance shown by the Strakka Racing entry in the season opener in Spain.

"I'm really looking forward to driving LNT's brand new Ginetta-Zytek at Spa," Smith said. "I've been in conversation with fellow Yorkshireman Lawrence for the past couple of months and it's a perfect fit for both LNT and me to race at Spa.

"When Lawrence gets involved in something it's done correctly as can be seen from the way he has developed the Ginetta brand and racing series while his involvement with Zytek has created a great buzz and I am very happy to be a part of his team's Spa programme.

"A similar Ginetta-Zytek started the opening LMS race from pole-position and although the ultra-fast diesel engined Peugeots will be back on the LMS scene at Spa combined with first round winners Aston Martin posing a big threat, I'm confident we'll have the speed in Belgium."

Smith also took time to thank the Dyson squad for giving him permission to take part in the event.

"I must thank Rob and Chris Dyson for giving me their blessing to race at Spa," he said. "We've made massive progress in the opening three races with our new BP Lola-Mazda Coupe and I'm optimistic of scoring our first LMP2 win just a week after the LMS Spa race when I continue my ALMS programme in Salt Lake City."
