The Le Mans 24 Hours has suffered its first retirement after barely 20 minutes of action, with the JLOC Isao Noritake team confirming that its Lamborghini Murcielago is out of the race.

The team endured a trying week of action - or lack of - at La Sarthe after running into driveshaft issues during the Wednesday test session.

The car turned laps in qualifying but was the slowest car in the field and was due to start the race down in 55th place.

Having failed to hit the track during the mornign warm-up, it was little surprise that the Lamborghini was retired from the race within the opening half hour.
