Leading Audi goes off

Tom Kristensen goes off at the Porsche Curves
Audi's leading car in the Le Mans 24 Hours has hit problems after Tom Kristensen went off at the Porsche Curves in the #7 car shortly before 19.30 local time.

Kristensen was running fourth when he came up behind the BMW of Andy Priaulx, which was returning slowly to the pits with a puncture.

Priaulx moved left to get out of the way at the same time as Kristensen tried to go round the outside and went backwards into the barrier and the tyre wall.

The Dane lost a lap to the leaders while the car was pulled from the gravel before returning to the pits with a damaged rear wing which required Audi to pull the car into the garage.

With repairs carried out, the car returned to the track but has now dropped to seventh place.
