The second Safety Car period of the Le Mans 24 Hours has been called just before the six hour mark after the demise of the JMW Aston Martin Vantage.

Bryce Miller was at the wheel of the car when it suffered an incident towards the end of the lap, with the car showing damage to the front as it was recovered from the circuit.

Marshals are now taking the time to have a general clear up around the circuit.

Audi will be hopeful that the deployment of the Safety Car allows it to make up some of the time lost during the opening caution period in the first hour but perhaps crucially, the two leading Peugeots have been split up.
